Before unfolding the story behind our official logo, it is essential to trace the meaning of Cosmos.
To many, Cosmos are simply exquisite blossoms. Belonging to the sunflower familyโand close cousins to the delicate daisy and vibrant marigoldโthey bloom in a breathtaking spectrum of shades and varieties. It was in Mexico that these flowers were originally given their name, derived directly from the ancient Greek word kosmos, which translates to “The Orderly Universe.” It signifies a state of perfect harmony and balanceโthe absolute antithesis of chaos.
Legend has it that a Spanish priest in Mexico first named the plant after observing its impeccably symmetrical, beautifully aligned petals. To him, the flower was a mirror reflecting the grand, orderly design of the universe itself. Beyond their geometry, these blossoms have long stood as universal symbols of harmony, grace, and effortless simplicity.
Rooted in Memory
My deep affection for the Cosmos flower stems from the earliest chapters of my childhood. I vividly remember our rooftop garden, which transformed every winter into a canvas of vibrant color. Among the wide varieties that bloomed, it was the white Cosmos that always captured my heart. To me, they were the ultimate emblem of genuine love, clarity, and pure innocence.
Years later, I would truly recognize the profound value of living in alignment with the essence of Natureโand the deep cost of losing that vital connection. During a period of my life when I faced skin challenges, nothing seemed to offer relief until I turned completely to nature-based remedies.
The inspiration for this name arrived when Reza and I began envisioning a clean skincare line formulated exclusively with organic, natural ingredients. Having experienced the transformative power of the earth firsthand, we began handcrafting small, intentional batches of products. When we shared these initial creations with friends and family, the responses were overwhelmingly positive.
While we harbored a deep passion to introduce these formulas to the marketplace, launching a full-scale professional cosmetic house in Bangladesh presented structural challenges. Reza was deeply immersed in his existing professional commitments, and I felt it best not to navigate the vast complexities of production entirely alone. And so, we gracefully paused our manufacturing plans and chose a different path: launching a digital sanctuary where I could write and share the collective wisdom I had gathered.
The name Cosmos remained floating in my mind. At the time, I only associated it with the innocent blossoms of my childhood rooftop garden, entirely unaware of its deeper, celestial philosophy. I hesitated, unsure if the name was the right fit. But when Reza revealed that beyond the flower, Cosmos represented the infinite majesty of the Universe itself, a profound clarity settled in. I distinctly remember saying, “This is the exact name we must choose.” Thus, our first digital home was created: WhiteCosmoslog.comโa space dedicated to exploring, honoring, and documenting everything that enchants the soul.
Bringing the vision to life
When the time came to translate this cosmic philosophy into a visual identity, I knocked on the creative door of a beautifully talented artist named Sriti Peach.
She captured the vision perfectly, sketching an elegant silhouette of a woman gently cradling a Cosmos flower, precisely as I had envisioned it in my dreams. She brought the soul of the brand to life, and I am forever grateful for her artistry.
Once the raw sketch was finalized, we embarked on the digital rendering process. We utilized Adobeโs creative mobile tools to refine the linework, and I meticulously designed the typography using Google’s open-source font library. I will soon compile and share all of these design resources and links in a follow-up guide for fellow creators.
